The online childbirth preparation course offered by BirthRoot Midwifery provides the resources, information, and support that you need to have a safe, satisfying, and empowering birth experience. In this modern world where every minute may already be spoken for, this online course allows you the flexibility and freedom to experience comprehensive childbirth preparation in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace.
The course, taught by certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, Sandra Londino, is engaging, informative, and evidence based, providing you with thorough and holistic preparation for birth and parenting. The online course is as close to a live, in-person childbirth class series as possible.
The online course promotes birth as a normal, physiological process and acknowledges that people have a fundamental right to understand all of their choices in childbirth. Because birth and people are unique, the course does not promote a specific method for labor and birth, but rather offers a wide variety of options so the pregnant person and partner may decide what is best for their birth experience. This course is appropriate for people choosing to birth at home, in a birth center, or at a hospital and will address the circumstances around each environment. It is the goal of the course to address not only the many factors of pregnancy and birth but to also provide a space in which there is a sensitivity to and celebration of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, relationship status, and family framework. Queer-specific topics such as intentional family-building, gender identity and expression, and the central role of nongestational parents are woven throughout the childbirth preparation material. Presented with a blend of lecture, written material, online research, and inner exploration, this class is an experience not to be missed!
